How to Play ESPN Winter X-Games Snowboarding 2002
Quick start
Press START at the title screen, choose Superpipe, Snowboarder X or Big Air, then pick one of 13 professional riders. Superpipe rewards alternating lip jumps and linked tricks; Snowboarder X starts on Course 1 and disqualifies a run that misses a gate pair; Big Air totals tricks from three kickers. Learn steering, edging and charged ollies in the first Snowboarder X course, avoid obstacles that add time, and prioritise a clean landing before attempting longer combinations.
Controls
Menus: D-pad selects, A confirms/continues, B cancels/returns. Riding: D-pad left/right turns; A jumps or ollies, and holding then releasing A gives a bigger jump; B edges for a sharper turn, becomes stronger when held and brakes when pressed without turning. START pauses with Back to Main Menu, Retry and Continue. Directional inputs plus A, B, L and R perform the tricks documented in the manual's command tables.
