How to Play ESPN Winter X-Games Snowboarding 2002
Quick start
Press START on the title screen, choose a competition—Superpipe, Snowboarder X or Big Air—and select one of 13 professional riders. Superpipe scores alternating lip jumps and linked tricks; Snowboarder X begins with Course 1 and requires you to pass between every gate pair without hitting time-costing obstacles; Big Air gives three kickers and totals your trick scores. Start with Snowboarder X to learn turning, edging and charged ollies, then use clean landings before adding trick-button combinations.
Controls
Menus: D-pad selects, A confirms/continues and B cancels/goes back. Riding: D-pad left/right turns; A jumps or ollies—hold and release A for a larger jump; B sets an edge for a sharper turn, with a stronger effect when held, and B without turning brakes. START pauses; choose Back to Main Menu, Retry or Continue. Tricks combine directions with A, B, L and R as listed in the manual's trick tables.
