How to Play Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf

Quick start

Pick Practice first, choose a golfer and course, then check wind direction and distance. Use the D-pad to aim and B to cycle clubs. Press A to begin the swing, press A again near the desired power point, then press A a third time near the accuracy mark to control hook or slice. Favor a safe club and a centered final press until the meter timing feels consistent.

Controls

D-pad adjusts aim and shot options; Up/Down changes shot height when available. B cycles clubs or shot settings. A is used for the three-stage swing: start the meter, set power, then set impact/side spin. START pauses or confirms menu flow, while SELECT changes menu choices. On the green, use the same meter while reading slope and distance before committing the putt.

Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf — About this game

Fighting Golf is SNK's NES golf game, combining approachable button controls with meaningful choices of club, aim, shot height, power, and hook or slice. Stroke Play supports a conventional round, Nassau divides the match into scoring segments, and Practice removes the pressure while you learn each hole. This record refers to the European cartridge, which shares the home-version courses and three-stage swing system documented for Lee Trevino's Fighting Golf; it should not be confused with the differently controlled arcade release.
