How to Play S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team

Quick start

Choose one or two players with SELECT and press START; solo players then select Arnold or Sigourney. Move with the D-pad and hold B to fire. Watch the twin satellites rotate, then tap A to freeze their firing line towards incoming enemies. Tap A again to resume rotation. Avoid taking excessive speed upgrades, keep a recovery item in mind, and use co-op to cover opposite sides rather than bunching together.

Controls

D-pad moves the cybernetic warrior in four directions. B fires and can be held for continuous fire with certain weapons. A locks or unlocks the twin satellites' firing position. START pauses. On the title screen, SELECT chooses one or two players and START confirms; in solo play START also confirms the chosen team member. Controller 2 uses the same layout in co-op.

S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team — About this game

S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team is the North American NES localisation of Final Mission. Choose Arnold or Sigourney in single-player, or deploy both in simultaneous two-player action, then fly through ruined New York, subterranean caverns, the Astrotube, a battleship and the orbiting platform. Two satellites circle each warrior and can be locked at a chosen angle, creating fire above, below or behind. Destroy item carriers for speed, laser, wide beam, bombs and recovery as you push towards Vile Malmort.
