How to Play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Quick start

Enter a building from the opening map, then press A to jump and B to attack. Donatello's bo staff reaches farther than the other starting weapons, making him useful in tight rooms. Open the START information screen and change turtles before anyone's health reaches zero; SELECT toggles any collected secondary weapon. Search short branches for pizza and learn which doors return to the right street. In the underwater dam sequence, tap A to swim and touch every bomb before time expires while avoiding seaweed and electrical barriers.

Controls

D-pad: overhead movement, side-view movement and ducking, or underwater steering. A: variable-height jump; tap repeatedly to swim. B: weapon attack. A+B: jumping attack. START: pause/information screen and turtle switching. SELECT: toggle signature and collected weapons. Party Wagon: A fires the Vulcan cannon, B launches anti-Foot missiles, SELECT exits.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — About this game

Geki Kame Ninja Den is the Japanese Famicom release of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action adventure. It combines overhead navigation across New York with side-view buildings, sewers, combat rooms, and platforming. Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello have separate health and weapons with different reach, letting the player preserve the team by switching before a turtle falls. The six-area mission includes rescuing April and Splinter, disarming the Hudson dam's timed bombs, operating the Party Wagon, and finding the hidden Technodrome. The Japanese release is mechanically close to the later NES edition, though its story text identifies April differently, so this entry retains the domestic title and context.
