How to Play Tecmo World Wrestling
Quick start
Use Select to choose 1 Player and press Start. Browse the wrestlers with A or B, place the star on your choice with Left/Right, then press Start. Accept muscle training before the opening match: choose an exercise and tap A rapidly after the whistle to fill the PUSH meter and add power. In the ring, start with kicks and punches, then close in to clinch and combine a direction with A or B for throws and holds. Wear down the opponent before attempting riskier moves; when he is lying down, stand close and press B to pin. Do not remain outside for a 20-count or on the top rope for a five-count.
Controls
D-pad: move in eight directions; tap Left or Right twice to run. A: kick when separated, knee lift in a clinch, drop kick while running, lift a downed opponent, or diving body attack from the corner. B: punch when separated, headlock in a clinch, clothesline while running, flying knee drop from the corner, or pin beside a fallen opponent. Clinch combinations include Up+A brain buster, Down+A pile driver, Left/Right+A back drop, and Up+B body slam. Mash A or B to escape a pin. Select chooses the player mode; Start confirms and pauses during a match.
Tecmo World Wrestling — About this game
Tecmo World Wrestling combines an unusually broad move set with Tecmo's cinematic sports presentation. In the one-player game, you choose one of ten fictional international wrestlers, optionally raise his power through rapid-button training, and work through the roster toward the hidden champion. Matches last seven minutes and can end by a three-count pin, time limit, or disqualification. The lower part of the screen carries live text commentary, while selected high-impact techniques trigger a close-up replay. A separate two-player mode supports a head-to-head bout, and every wrestler has signature holds in addition to the shared strikes, grapples, running attacks, rope moves, and ringside techniques.
