How to Play Golden Sun

Quick start

Press START, enter Isaac’s name with the D-Pad and A, choose END and begin the storm prologue in Vale. Follow the villagers south away from the falling boulder, speak to people and examine anything directly in front of Isaac with A; the opening teaches movement before the main quest begins three years later. Once the party forms, save from the pause menu, equip found gear, and set Djinn deliberately: setting one can change class and Psynergy, while unleashing it in battle prepares it for a summon.

Controls

D-Pad walks—including diagonally—and navigates commands. Hold B with the D-Pad to run; B also cancels or advances text. A examines, speaks, opens field commands and confirms. L/R use assigned Psynergy shortcuts in towns or dungeons; on the world map R shows the map, and in battle R shows status. SELECT opens field commands, START opens the pause menu. Battle commands use the D-Pad and A, with B backing out before actions are committed.
