How to Play Riviera: The Promised Land
Quick start
Proceed through the prologue in NEW GAME and enter Chapter 1, "Heaven's Gate." In the first "Angel's Tombstone", it will be a battle with Hellhounds, and Leda's fire-based attacks will hit their weak points. Move the field using the screen's direction trigger, press A to switch to QUEST, and press the same direction to explore. Red exploration triggers consume 1 TP and are replenished by battle evaluation, so save them for treasure chests and clues. The trick is to use new items after training is released, and proceed with acquiring skills and increasing abilities without reducing durability.
Controls
Cross button: MOVE/QUEST direction trigger, combat items, menu selection. A: Text forwarding, decision, switch from MOVE to QUEST. B: Cancel/Return to MOVE. R: Japanese version of conversation skip, additional effects of battle items and action details display. SELECT: Field/Battle Menu. START: Field area map, status display during battle. For the action trigger, enter the direction, A, and B that appear on the screen.
