How to Play Riviera: The Promised Land
Quick start
Choose New Game and advance through the prologue to Chapter 1, Heaven's Gate. At Angels' Memorial the first Hell Hound tests Ein and Ledah's Diviners; Ledah's fire attack exploits its weakness. In the field, follow a directional MOVE trigger to advance, press A for QUEST mode and use the matching direction to inspect. Red QUEST triggers cost 1 TP, so save TP for useful chests and clues; victories replenish it. In battle take only the displayed item set, watch durability and practise with newly found items when training becomes available to learn skills and gain statistics.
Controls
D-pad: activate the on-screen MOVE/QUEST trigger, choose items and navigate menus. A: advance text, confirm and switch from MOVE to QUEST. B: cancel/return to MOVE. L: skip dialogue sequences in the English GBA release. R: show an item's added effects or a character's detailed action. SELECT: open the field or battle menu. START: show the area map in the field or participant status in battle. Timed Action Triggers use the direction/A/B symbols displayed on screen.
