How to Play Shrek 2: Beg for Mercy!
Quick start
Begin the story with Scroll 1, Job Hunt, and choose Into the Forest. Puss starts the first level: run right, take the first two coins, double-jump over both spike beds, climb the stone rise and defeat the lone pumpkin. Continue along the safe upper route and use walls, vines, keys and doors as they are introduced. Progress is normally saved after each finished level; finding all 40 coins in every level of a chapter unlocks that chapter's bonus game.
Controls
Use the D-pad to move and A to jump; press A again in mid-air for Puss's double jump. B attacks—Puss swings his sword, Shrek punches or handles movable objects, and Donkey kicks. As Puss, L charms and briefly stuns vulnerable foes, R guards and deflects attacks, and Down+B in the air is a downward sword thrust. START pauses. Puss also clings to suitable walls, ceilings, vines and rails where the stage permits.
