The level then shifts into 2D platforming, where Mrs Puff's instruction panels introduce one move at a time; recover SpongeBob's lost licence, then gather the machine parts needed to rebuild the hot rod and win the follow-up races. Read every tutorial panel before moving on, because the GBA game changes rules between platforming, driving, flying, chase and giant-Plankton sections. Snooze Winks restore some health, Extra Player icons add a life, and Secret Mini-Game icons unlock games in the Arcade, so short detours are useful even when the exit is already in sight.

Menus: Control Pad moves the cursor, A confirms, B goes back, and START pauses during play. Core 2D sections: Control Pad moves; A jumps; B attacks or uses the nearby object.
