How to Play Surf's Up
Quick start
Press START, choose Championship, select a surfer and take on the first Shiverpool competition. The course flows automatically: move up and down to avoid rocks, line up with ramps and rails, and collect stars to fill the boost meter. In the air, combine B with a direction to perform one of five tricks and chain clean landings. Finish before three rivals or reach the required score to unlock the next challenge.
Controls
In the menus use the directional cross, A to confirm and B to go back. In racing, Up/Down changes the trajectory on the wave; B plus one direction performs an aerial trick, START pauses. A back button hits a nearby rival, but the available GBA review doesn't specify whether it's L or R: so follow the tutorial's direction. Stars and bonuses fill the boost; ramps, rails and water jets create scoring courses.
