From the main menu, choose "Career Mode", select a skater, then "Hangar, Meacham Field, TX" on the level selection screen. The first easy objective to aim for is the Hangar High Score of 10,000 points. Hold B to crouch and gain speed, release B to ollie, then add direction+L for a flip or direction+R for a grab; put the board back upright before landing. Continue with a manual from Up then Down, but quickly do another ollie before the balance gauge reaches an edge. Goals and money unlock further levels, stat upgrades, and boards. To learn without a timer, start in “Free Skate”; Career and Single Session rounds last two minutes.

Menus: move the cursor with the directional cross, validate with A or START and go back with B from the choice of level. Skate: the skater moves forward automatically. Left/Right turns and balances grinds; Top leans forward, allows you to exit a bowl and corrects the manual forward; Bas brakes, leans back and corrects the manual backwards. Hold B to crouch and accelerate, then release to ollie. Hit High then release B for a No Comply, or High twice then release B for a Boneless. Up then Down launches a manual; Down then up, a nose manual. In the air, direction+L triggers a flip and direction+R a grab. On the ground, L switches to nollie and R changes stance. A near a bar or ledge initiates a grind, direction+A changes the type, and jumping then holding A near a wall produces a wallride. Hold B in receipt of a large drop to avoid the bowl; after a fall, quickly press the controls to get up. START pauses, SELECT is not used. “Options > Control Setup” allows you to reassign A, B, L and R.
