At the title screen, press START, choose Pro Tour Career, select a professional or created skateboarder, then enter The Foundry, the only park open at the start. A career session lasts two minutes: first aim for the High Score of 10,000 points. Hold B to gain speed, release to ollie, add direction and L for a flip or direction and R for a grab, then press A near a bar to grind. Extend the combo with Up-Down for a manual, or press R upon landing from a quarter-pipe jump to do a revert. The Foundry also features the letters S-K-A-T-E, five unlockable valves and other objectives; watch the opening flyover before choosing your course.

Menus: the directional cross moves the cursor, A validates and B goes back; L and R rotate the skater in Create-A-Skater. In session, Left and Right turn, Down brakes, holding B crouches the skater and increases their speed, then releasing B triggers an ollie. After the ollie, direction + L performs a flip, direction + R a grab, and direction + A a grind on a bar or a lip trick at the edge of a ramp. Up then Down launches a manual; Down then up, a nose manual. On the ground, R changes stance; upon landing a jump on a quarter-pipe, half-pipe or swimming pool, R produces a revert. Ollie towards a wall then A for a wallride, and B to get out; A behind a car allows you to hold on to it, B to let go. START pauses. SELECT has no in-game function.
