How to Play The Sims 2
Quick start
Choose Create-a-Sim, enter a name and select appearance, clothing, and an aspiration, then finish the introduction. Your first plot point is to go upstairs and explore Strangetown. Leave the house, talk to Dusty Hogg, and use Chit-Chat or Entertain until the conversation diamond fills. Next, follow the road north to the pawn shop and buy an early necessity—preferably a bed or shower—then return home when the toilet need appears. Keep an eye on the need icons and green performance bar: ignored needs drain your TV rating. Use START often to review the current Plot Points rather than wandering without an objective.
Controls
Control Pad moves your Sim and menu cursor. A confirms, interacts, uses the selected tool, or performs a conversation move. B cancels or goes back; hold B while moving to run. R cycles tools. L and R rotate furniture during placement and scroll status tabs. START opens the status screen with Plot Points, Cast, Props, Skills, and Items. SELECT opens the pause screen, including the world map, options, save, and quit choices.
