Play Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards (US edition · English) Online

Choose NEW GAME at the title screen and press A. Enter a name of up to eight characters: use the Control Pad to move, A to enter a character, B to erase, L/R to move the input cursor, then START and A on OK. After Yugi and Joey visit your house, go outside to Clock Tower Square. Face Yugi, Mai, Bonz, Weevil and Mako and press R to speak to each tournament duelist; return to the center when they have left to trigger the 9:00 opening. Your first overall goal is to win six Locator Cards and qualify for the Battle City finals. Save manually by pressing A at the computer in your house, because progress is not saved automatically.

Field and menus: Control Pad moves the character or cursor; hold B with a direction to run at twice the normal speed. A talks, examines and confirms; B cancels or returns; R challenges the character directly ahead to a duel. START or SELECT opens the Duelist Menu. Deck/Trunk: Up/Down scrolls, Left/Right moves the selected card between Trunk and Deck, R skips groups of 50 cards in Trunk or 10 in Deck, L shows the next card-information set, START opens sorting and SELECT changes the sort order. Duel: Control Pad moves the cursor, A opens commands/confirms, B opens the sub-menu or cancels, hold L to show a card's ATK/DEF, and R shows information about the opponent's hand. Save by examining the home computer with A.
